By now you’ve probably been exposed to too much whimsical and far-fetched interpretations of zombies; some with elastic tongues and others wield weapons and guns.
Let us convey this point first and foremost; zombies are the human undead. They do not grow these extraordinary use of their body parts in their transformation. What you see a human can do with his teeth, with his hands, his feet is precisely what a zombie could do. The only difference between a human and a zombie is that zombies are mindless, immune to pain and will take more punishment than a human body could. The zombie’s brain is it’s life source. Only if you stop their brain from functioning do you stop their mindless hunger from consuming any human being that moves.
But in our world, there are 2 types of zombies. Knowing which you face is key to surviving the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
There are 2 types of zombies and the main difference lie in their ability to seek you out.
Blood-Smellers
Otherwise known as the “Walking Dead”, these zombies seek out fresh and warm blood and can smell any living thing within a 100 meters. Hiding from these zombies in tight corners or in close doors is useless for as their name suggests, they are greater than dogs in smelling the food they seek. They also possess incredible strength and immunity to pain. They can ravage doors, windows and take a free fall drop and still stand up (so long as their head remains intact). They also move by the numbers, they are like a swarm, acting as meat shield to each other. Bullets in their bodies are useless and it would just waste your energy, ammo and life to try and kill them via this method.
The Blood-Smellers have weaknesses however. They are incredibly slow, and it is easy to outrun a Blood-Smeller (although it is not as easy to hide from them). The best way in surviving an apocalypse where they reign is to clear an area and be sure that no zombies are near. There you make camp, there you wait until their bodies rot. These zombies do not move unless their fellow zombies detect blood. So clearing an area, ensuring that you are not detected by their smell is key to survival. Killing these zombies involve stopping their brain from functioning. That is the only way. But since they are slow, it would be easy to get a pistol, a shotgun or an axe and make do with their head. Just do not be overrun by these type for their numbers are their power.
The Hearers
For the Phsyically Challenge, this is your worst nightmare. The hearers are very much different from their slow cousins primarily because these creatures run in rage. If you cannot outrun these zombies, then chances are you are as good as dead. Hiding from these zombies are easy though, for as long as you do not make unncessary sounds or proclaim to the world that you are still human for all of them to hear, then you are safe. A head-on confrontation with these zombies, if not a one-on-one scenario will most likely end up with you being a new part of their zombie family. They are called the Hearers primarily because they are attracted to sound of the living. If they hear any plates crashing or you screaming, then thats when they zero is. These are also zombies that are constantly on the move. They scour the area for the living but only the accessible ones. If there is a barricaded house, a locked room then chances are they won’t spend that much energy destroying those.
The best way to live is to be silent and hide. Avoid confrontation first and foremost of these strong and fast creatures will do anything for a bite.
In the future when humanity is put to the test, know these tips to survive.
